The blocks are 18" square and the dresden plates are the 8" blade. there is no pattern, I just made it up as I went along. Started out making dresden plates, picked out background material to sew them on to, then just picked out 2 fabrics to make sashing. same for cornerstones, just picked out 1 print and paired it up with brights to make checkerboard style.
