Funny but really cute!!!

He is so cute. Does he coordinate with the quilt in color, or just a separate gift?

Ziva 04-27-2011 09:55 AM

The two elephants I'm planning for the gifts are for the big brother and big sister of the new baby boy, so they don't coordinate with his quilt. I picked a bright flower print for the big sis and fun stripes for the big bro. The baby quilt is almost done and I'll post pics when it's bound :D

Pachy is so smart! I wish I had one to check my numbers! What a great gift for the older siblings of the baby.

Oh I have this pattern, I love it also, But mine will be pincushions first. I love your elephants, and the fabric you used, its a very versitule pattern.

Haha, you're right!!! He totally does. I was thinking black french knots, but I don't know if they'd show up well?? Also, I figured since he was essentially a mock up (the real gifts for the kids will have eyes and embelishments), I could add his eyes when I decided between the french knots and small black buttons :D

We've dubbed him "Pachy" and he was created to live on my husbands desk at work (my hubby is such a good sport!).

I'm going to make Pachy some friends this week to accompany a baby quilt I'm finishing for some friends of ours who just had their third. The elephants will go to the big brother and big sister :D

Just a note *The Oregon Zoological Gardens in Portland, Oregon has a real elephant named "Packy". I remember a contest at school when he was born, (when I was a child) to name him. (I believe he was the first elephant born in North America.)
