A lifetime friend recently passed on the morning of his 93rd birthday. He was a 30 yr. Marine veteran, and a POW from Wake Island (captured on day 16 of WWII and released at the end of the war). To honor his memory, my big sis and I made Quilts of Valor table runners for his wife and two daughters. We had all grown up together, passing clothes from one another when we were little. They were truly touched that we honored his memory in such a patriotic way.
