A Memory Quilt for a Beloved Pet

10 Attachment(s)
I made this memory quilt for my dear friend, whom I call a sister, and her husband after they lost thier beloved pet dog of 9 years to cancer this last July. I thought it would help with their grief, which has be very hard.
I hope the pictures shows good. One picture is on the back of their sofa, which is now the home of their quilt.
I made this quilt 70" X 70". The pattern is called "Around the Square" which was in the Quilters World Magazine several years ago, but not as a memory quilt and not this size.
Thanks for looking

A great way to memoralize a pet--they will love it. A great pattern and the fabric color goes well together

What a wonderful person you are to do this for them. Ours are reaching the end of their lives (sisters) in the not too distant future and it breaks my heart thinking about that. Your quilt will make the grief process a little easier for them. Bless you!

This is a beautiful memory quilt and they will cherish it. I made a memory quilt of our two beloved doggies last year and it hangs in our bedroom so I can say goodnight to them and I get to wake up and see them too... it has helped eased the heartache.

Beautiful and so meaningful and thoughtful. I especially loved looking at your fantastic quilting. Such a far cry from my "stitch in the ditch and outline quilting". Thank you for sharing and for the inspiration to someday get out of my comfort zone. Have a great day.

Thank you all so very much for your sweet replies. We called her Heidi Ann. She was such a sweet dog. Now we call the quilt the Heidi Ann Quilt.

Cathy, the professional and loving hours you spent making this wonderful story of Heidi's life are truly the most wonderful blessings anyone could ever receive. The back quilt label has thirty-nine (39) pictures of every facet of her world. I hope the picture of the back with her deer, turkey, and other wildlife show up good here. She was not a pet, she was our little girl-child. The quality and workmanship of your art are amazing. It is a warm feeling at night to see her still on her couch. She was our life, and we want you and Deryl to know how much our Heidi Ann Quilt has helped with the healing. Anyone having lost a beloved "family" member really should consider having one of these. Combine the memories with the craftsmanship, and we feel we have the most valued possession anyone could ever have received.
