Wow, that is really a treasure of memories. Great job!

Thank you gollytwo for answering this. I also used CJenkins and ordered the solution and treated my own fabric. That way, I could use high quality cotton, either white or ecru, and treated whole pieces of cloth before ever cutting out individual sheets. It takes a bit of time, but the end product is well worth it and if you follow the directions you shouldn't have any problems, keeping in mind however that no matter the method, no matter the quality of the fabric sheets, none of them are designed to withstand direct sunlight. It will fade over time and so for these types of quilts, it's best that they not see direct sunlight and washings be kept to a minimum.

I've tried several different brands of photo transfer cloth that you sew in, not iron-on.
The best I've found is made by C Jenkins Company. Unlike other brands it is soft like quilting cotton fabric. I order 10 white Miracle Fabric sheets at a time; irregulars if they offer them when I'm ordering. If you wish to do your own, they sell the supplies. http://www.cjenkinscompany.com |
Ronda - beautiful keepsake. You did a wonderful job with pics and quilting.

A lovely way to honor those whom we have lost. A nice gift for siblings.

could you tell me what pattern this is? I would love to make one for my family reunion. This is a beautiful quilt. Did you get if quilted? I have a longarm if you ever need one quilted.

Fabulous memory quilt- love the way you added all the interesting blocks, geese and other quilty stuff!

This was custom designed and stitched by me. I've made 3 or 4 now and they just have to "speak" to you? Pictures are different sizes and shapes and people love different types of added blocks, etc, so each one has to be designed individually, and that can take quite a bit of time. :)

What a nice way to honor your mother! There was a reason why you felt so good while making them - your mother was probably looking down from Heaven, giving her approval :)

You are very clever, what great memories you have gifted your family.
