After months of working I finally finished a memory quilt for my aunt. I truly wish I had taken pictures every step of the way. All fabric on the top was cut from an array of XXL cotton t shirts that were my uncle's favorites. I can't wait to give it to my Aunt at Christmas. I live 500 miles from her and want to be there when she gets the quilt.

Thanks QuilnNan :)

She will love it - you did a great job.
I once did a memory quilt and had the hardest time cutting up the clothes I was given to work with - it was so sad for me. In the end, the recipient loved it. Her son had passed away. |
Good job

I do like the quilt.

Redpurselady - I will not do another one unless it is for someone VERY special.

nothing could be so more beautiful than with your thoughts of her and him attached to this lovely quilt. :)

Thank you stitchinbee. In a weird way I will be sad to see this quilt go. It was comforting to work on it.I talked to my uncle a lot while working on it.

You did a great job. This is a real treasure and I can understand it being hard to part with.
I made a memory pillow for DMIL since she was going to be in a nursing home. I had pictures and ties from DFIL that I used for trim. I cried making it, she cried when she got it -- and it has not disappeared 10 years later (though a lot of other stuff has). |
Thank you everyone!

I'm sure she will snuggle under it and love it always. Wonderful gesture and gift.
