This is such a good idea! I'm sure she'll love it and she'll have something to remember her daddy. God Bless Our Troops!

God granted us all gifts, talents and abilities so we can serve others. Your wonderful talent and kind heart will help serve to heal this child's broken heart.

This is something she will treasure forever!

God bless you!

What a very special quilt!!! So wonderful of you to make it for her.
When my daughter lost a couple people in her unit when she was stationed in Afghanistan I made 3 of 4 quilts given to their families through "Home of the Brave" For the 4 yo daughter of one soldier I made the quilt in her favorite colors. I sent block's overseas to the unit while they were still deployed and had their fellow soldiers sign the blocks. Then 2 of the quilts went to the local unit for more signatures of soldiers that also had served with them.

How special! I've made Quilts of Valor and Cuddle Quilts with our Quilt Guild, but there is something special about knowing a bit about the family or situation. I said lots of prayers for Jordan and her family while sewing! My husband pointed out that making this quilt probably helped me deal with the anxiety I stuff when our son is deployed. Is your daughter going back? I know our son will - he is EOD (like in the movie, Hurt Locker), and very much needed in Afghanistan! Blessings to you!!!

How special, that is the kindest gift, and I know it will be so special to her.

We are hoping that she won't go back. She did a one year tour in Iraq, getting home last September. He unit may deploy again next year. However a few weeks ago, during drill, she injured her knee. She's had a MRI done and it's a torn meniscus and maybe a torn ACL. She's waiting for the Army's response and then will need to schedule surgery(they will do this in 2 surgery's) . She will be off her feet for over 3 months and Dr says that it will be a year before she will be "fit" again. I'm bummed that she tore up her knee but it may just keep her from deploying again, which would be wonderful.
