Very cool. I am also looking forward to your tutorial.
There is someone on Etsy - Rita's Creations - that sells a pattern for this. I know I have seen it before though somewhere. I might be remembering something I saw on Craftster or something.

They are really sharp. I think I will be needing to make some as well. I bet my mother in law would low this. I do wonder how well they would be in the microwave - do you think it would have the same baked potato bag situation with a possible fire situation?

Very cute and practical..look forward to your tutorial.

SewExtremeSeams 08-13-2011 03:15 AM

Very usuful. I can see where these might even help to keep the bottom of your microwave cleaner by catching bubble-overs. :-D

Sylvie45 08-13-2011 03:59 AM

Wonderful idea. My 6 year old grandaughter wants to reheat soup in the microwave but can't handle the "oven mitts" -- way too large. This would probably work for her.

FranM 08-13-2011 04:09 AM

What a great idea! Can you tell us how you did it? Please!

pscott392 08-13-2011 04:09 AM

Great idea good for grandkids. Can't wait till get directions. Tahnks

wvdek 08-13-2011 06:07 AM

Great idea. I will definitely use this for gifts.

Just remember ya'all - only 100% cotton fabric, thread, and batting. I'm sure that will be in the tut though. Can't wait.

madamheather 08-13-2011 06:08 AM

Remember to use 100% cotton--Warm and Natural has one specifically for using for microwave products. The warm and natural product that is not 100% cotton will cause a fire in the microwave. This is a great gift or craft fair creation. Can't wait for the tute. Thanks.

grannypat7925 08-13-2011 06:09 AM

Grandma Peg 08-13-2011 06:14 AM

Now see what you've done! I wont be able to work on my current quilt because of this! I'll spend the the afternoon trying to figure this out! It looks fairly simple a large square, and cut a large wedges and sew? I've gotta try it! Well so much for finishing this quilt by sunday...LOL thanks for the inspiration, hopefully I wont need that tute, but it'll be interesting to see how close I can get!

katydidit 08-13-2011 06:39 AM

I'm looking forward to the tute also.
