Mini Quilt

1 Attachment(s)
My guild is trying to keep people connected even though we are not meeting. So they arranged a mini quilt exchange. I "met" a new friend from this, and enjoyed making her this mini. it is paper pieced (my first time) and comes to about 15" x 15"

You did a fabulous job! Everything really pops against the blue background.

Reminds me of Steven Hawking's "Remember to look at the stars." Beautiful. I have been gravitating to patterns with smaller pieces and find it frustrating. Good for you and your friend.

Oh wow! Your "new" friend really lucked out getting you as a swap partner, that is fantastic!

Love the stars- they pop nicely against the blue background. Well done!

Yours' is really nice. I love it. On my first PP I was all thumbs, had to refit each piece more than once, put the wrong pieces in the wrong places, looked at the directions and illustrations a dozen times, cried and prayed both, a real nightmare but got it made. I still have to review the directions every time I start one.

Love your mini quilt and the star patterns you chose are just super. For a first-time paper pieced you chose some tricky patterns - I am very impressed!!!!!

Haha. you don't think that star that is cut off on the side was intetionally designed that way, do you? I totally botched that one, but saved the "better" half! but hey, opportunity for a design choice and i like that it trails off the edge!

Your mini is a winner! You have a new friend and a learned a new technique so that's another win.

Good for you for trying paper piecing. Your quilt is charming. My oldest son is an astronomer, and my husband is an astronmy hobbyist. I bet they would envy your new friend for this great little quilt.https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/heart.gif
