mini tree skirt

2 Attachment(s)
A friend requested tree skirts for her artificial tabletop tree for Valentine's day and St. Patrick's day. I started on the Valentine's one and decided to back it with Easter fabric. It is about 27" in diameter. I won't make the fabric button loops so wide if I do a button closing again--live and learn! I plan a two-sided St. Patrick's day skirt, backing it with Christmas fabric blocks but it won't be so elaborate as this one.

Here is the result :)

So pretty - and each side is so different! I love the addition of the lace and ribbon.

I made both sides up as I went along. :) I knew I wanted to use the 3-inch paper pieced hearts from Carol Doak but needing to make the skirt larger, it took on a life of its own after that. I found the crocheted lace in a Goodwill baggie of sewing things I bought some time ago and bought the 1/4-inch ribbon to go through it.
