Internet id working good enough today that I finally got to see them. They are adorable!! I just love them!

Ducky 08-02-2009 12:00 PM

Oh, they are really great! I love them all, but the one with the orange border just stands out. Great choice of borders.

NorBanaquilts 08-02-2009 01:17 PM

Ducky is right, All three are great, but the orange one just pops!

I have been hard at work most of the day, which is a change for me, there was thunder and lightening etc so had to keep the computer off.

See how hard I am working at putting some stippling on the mini's!

So then since I was so hard at work I decided I might as well push on and finish them up. So did a little more and then tossed binding on them all.

And then, That is not all, I managed to slip in the OBW one as well. And so it is done! so that if four complete projects done today, I must be on some kind of roll.

The funny part is I was having issues doing it on the small machine (before I got the bright idea to do them on the embroidery machine) so I tossed i ton the big table,

just a little big of overkill!

Your sewing is beautifully done--wrong side tells all! When using 1 " strips I trim seams to about 1/8th of an inch--less bulk, piecing lays flatter. Love the contrast of dark and light.

Lacelady 08-02-2009 01:59 PM

I think you must qualify for the prize - getting the most quilts completed in one day. Well done.

Thank you very much!

I tend not to trim much of anything, but I will think about it for sure, that or just sew the 1/8 seam to start with.

As long as square footage doesn't count, there isn't much actual quilt there.

Thank you

I have been busy, it is nice to get a few things done and out of the way, not sure what I will do with most of them, K-M asked for a care package, I guess I am a bad mom that I haven't sent anything to her and she has been gone for 3 weeks, I thought I would package her up one.

oksewglad 08-02-2009 02:16 PM

Trimming is time consumming

cutebuns 08-02-2009 02:21 PM

probably why I don't tend to do it, I don't square things up or anything either.

Chances are that I would just change to the 1/8 inch seam allowance to start with, save all the trimming for someone that has more time.

kwhite 08-02-2009 02:28 PM

Beautiful work CB.

Good Job on all of these!!! :D :D :D Love that OBW it's gorgeous :D :D :D
I love how you used the embroidery machine to quilt them!!!

retrogirl02 08-02-2009 09:58 PM

That quilt is awesome! Mini's must be the latest thing...I just saw another post about tiny blocks here also.

You must be a very patient piecer. Lovely work.

cutebuns 08-02-2009 10:01 PM

I am pretty sure that I am not all that patient, it is strip pieced so it went fast, and they are easy to put on point. You just need to know where to slice and dice, I am going to be doing a tut soon on it,

retrogirl02 08-02-2009 10:03 PM

ooh, I'll have to check that one out! I missed the tutes here. The people who take the time to share their information are amazing on the board. Keep us posted for sure!

cutebuns 08-02-2009 10:04 PM

Oh for sure, I have been requested to do one or two. I wold say that it keeps me out of trouble but that would be lying.

retrogirl02 08-02-2009 10:11 PM

LOL!! Can't wait to see them, then. Cracking up over your keeping out of trouble comment!!!!

cutebuns 08-02-2009 10:13 PM

Sure, I needed more fabric so that I could do the tut's, I really had no plans on doing this many quilts this year, some of them I might do in the mini, they will get what they need to know and I will save time and fabric.

Feathers 08-03-2009 05:19 AM

Really nice, CB. Good job.

k3n 08-03-2009 05:27 AM

Beautiful minis, CB! And the OBW is stunning! AND the stippling ROCKS! :D

littlehud 08-03-2009 08:21 AM

Oh my. That is amazing. I can't imagine working on anything that small. Great job.

JCL in FL 08-06-2009 04:52 PM

Oh my does that look nice. How many hours did that take. I love it.

cutebuns 08-06-2009 05:36 PM

Thanks everyone, the machine does a lot of the work thankfully.

I didn't keep track of the hours, probably playing around for 2 days other than the OBW one. It was done before hand. I was just playing around.

sewjoyce 08-06-2009 05:51 PM

Wow -- that is some great work!

elsie_old 08-06-2009 06:16 PM

kd124 08-07-2009 10:46 PM

Very cute. Perfect for doll quilts!

cutebuns 08-07-2009 10:50 PM

Thank you ladies, I am very happy with them, and please look in a couple of weeks from now when we are doing the mini mystery. I hope to see lots of doll quilts come out of it.
