This was a wedding gift for hubby's cousin and his wife who were attending seminary at the time.

I tried to make pictures to illustrate different Bible verses that had to do with missions. If I was doing it now, it would be better. Some of my appliques are pretty bad, but you gotta start somewhere.

Also, I would have used a different way of getting the Bible verses onto the fabric. (My mom wrote them on with a fabric marker as my handwriting is pretty bad.)

The blocks in the border are cheater fabric- and the prettiest cheater fabric I have ever seen! I don't often use it, but this was so pretty.

That's very cool!

Don't worry about the bits you'd do differently now, it marks where your skills were at that time, and it looks pretty good to me! :-)

Lisa, I think you did a wonderful job and I am sure they treasure it. Never would have guessed at the cheater quilt blocks. You did a great job encorporating several different mediums and it all came together just great. I agree with what others said, it is a record of your progress and does not lesson the gift at all. We each do our best at the time no matter our degree of ability and our hearts and love are stiched in each and every time. That is the gift we give others when they receive our quilts.
