Mixed animals ispy style quilt
2 Attachment(s)
My animal quilt is basically completed! This is my first quilted quilt, and the binding is a little odd . . . . I apparently got crazy and made it double sided, and used the binding to make both sides match up better!
I still have a couple steps with a few questions -- I still need to appliqué a label. Any suggestions on good fabric pens or good techniques for a situation where labeling was forgotten until after binding and machine embroidery isn't an option? Also I need to name the thing! I also wash it so I can make sure all my stitches stay put and see how it shrinks/puffs. I didn't do prewashing and used Hobbs 80/20 batting. Just throw it in on warm with gentle detergent and a color catcher? I read about using a vinegar soak to help set colors -- any thoughts on that? |
what a fun quilt! I spy someone having a lot of fun finding all the critters...

beautiful creative quilt! I'm in awe how you put that all together.

It's very pretty, and unique.

I'm obsessed w I spy quilts. Fascinated with yours. Great job!

Yes; warm wash, gentle detergent, and color catchers if you wish. Vinegar won't set the colors, so I'd leave it out.
Wonderful quilt! |
nicely done

Love your quilt....front and back!! and that Winnie the Pooh fabric....checked right away and found some on Etsy so got a yard. Wish the pics would give the option to enlarge like they used to so I could save a large version of the pics. I know you can do the ctrl/scroll thing but if you save it, it's still only the size shown. You have such a great assortment of fabrics in it!
