This is the last of the 2009 Christmas quilts that will be travelling to Florida. We just got the binding on Molly's tonight. Her cousin Hannah will get one just like it. Hannah's is quilted, and is next in line to be bound.

Noticed the tipped platform under your machines,,,what is the purpose?

The white one is a Tilt'able. The purpose is to move the machine bed up to make it more visible and the work area more accessible. It reduces back and shoulder strain while you sew. The wood one is a homemade imitation. It's not as adjustable, but also not as expensive. We really like them. If your LQS carries them maybe they'd let you try one out.

thanks, I might ck into that, it would be nice to have a little less neck fatigue after being at the machine for long periods . How much higher is the back to the front , The wooden one looks like a 1.5 - 2 inches ??

The "tall" side is 2", and the "short" side is 1 + 3/8". I keep it on the tall side. If you were making one (or having it made) I would recommend experimenting with different heights to see what works best for you.

Thanks for the compliment. We're still learning, and we're slow, but we are enjoying the journey.

The piano was given to us several years ago. It was painted "Have a Nice Day" Yellow and needed a lot of work. We had it restored and it has an awesome sound. It is an 1895 Packard.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and encouragement. I love seeing everyone else's work, and am honored to be able to post a finished project now and then myself.

Beautiful quilts, Darren - so cheerful! I love the fabric with the brown background and the circles and dots. Do you remember what collection it is from?

Edge Quilter -

The fabric collection came from Hobby Lobby. I think it says "Brothers and Sisters" or something similar on the selvage. They still carry it. If I can find a scrap with the selvage left I'll post again with more info.

You can do the same thing with "rubber door stops". I have tried them and they work great.
