Since the Hubble has brought back photos of outer space, I have been intrigued by what might be out in that vast, unexplored frontier... can you tell that I'm a Trekkie?

This is spectacular ... Very artistic. It would make a beautiful wall hanging. What size is it?

Susy 02-26-2010 10:37 AM

Thank you... the great fabric helped!

maureenann 02-26-2010 12:34 PM

Yes-- I fused and then appliqued. Just getting well from hand surgery, so machine appliqued and machine quilted!

maureenann 02-26-2010 12:34 PM

Me, too!!

maureenann 02-26-2010 12:35 PM

Love the word, anyway. I use it to describe other people's work all the time!

maureenann 02-26-2010 12:36 PM

Good for you to be so enterprising and ambitious. When I was writing full time, I de-stressed with sewing and painting, too.

Chele 02-26-2010 12:40 PM

Out of this world!

sewjoyce 02-26-2010 01:10 PM

OMG, my husband is a Trekkie and just said the other day he would like a quilt. Love it. You have definitely give me some ideas.

Where did you find the background fabric?

Originally from NC. Spent 7 years in Raleigh, my niece is still in Raleigh and the rest of my family is all over NC.

JoanneS 02-28-2010 03:50 PM

I love it, and I would love to see a larger picture of your Avatar. Did you make it, too?

shaverg 02-28-2010 03:55 PM

Just ordered the background fabric, it is so beautiful.

Carolyn K 02-28-2010 06:03 PM

Love your quilt....the title is so fitting. It reminds me of Ann Harwell's astronomy quilts....she also uses the Hubble pictues as her inspiration.
Would you share your source for the background fabric?

johncy 03-01-2010 10:14 AM

may the force be with you. where did you find the material

Joanieu 03-01-2010 11:30 AM

Belles.hold 03-02-2010 03:20 PM

Your quilt brings honor to Capt. James T. Kirk, Science Officer Spock, (I couldn't pronounce much less spell his first name) and Dr. Leonard McCoy (Bones). Can you tell I'm also a Treker? Terrific quilt.
