I joined another group and will be mainly making baby quilts for chairty for awhile.
Here's 2 more I just did. Someone had cut out some blocks, no one knew what pattern it was (the circle one) so I volunteered to take it home and make something out of it. I added some of my stash because only 1/2 of it was cut out already. And here's another one I am working on. I'm doing it fun & done style. |
What great quilts ! Very generous of you also

I love the circle one. All of them are nice. There is a little girl in our community that was born with her inside organs on the outside. Her name is Kennedy Joiner and she has a website set up I will check to get it. Is there someone that I could get in touch with who might be interested in making a couple of these for her maybe one to keep and one to raffle we have all sorts of yard sales and poker runs raffles and stuff to help her with them building her a bladder from her own cells and since it is experimental she dosent recieve any help so we raise money. I would do it my self but I am green at this quilting and now her kidneys are failing so she would need a couple of these soon. Any suggestions about how to get her a couple made.

Love them both!! Glad you could figure out what to do with the circle one -- sometimes it's kind of frustrating trying to figure out someone else's UFOs!
|
Love them all, great job!
|
i like the circle quilt - i can see it going to an early teen girl who thinks it is "just the coolest thing E-VER"!
|
really nice work and what a wonderful thing to do.
i make about 75 quilts a year that i give to local hospice care and the hospital breast cancer patients. |
Thanks, all these I am making go to the neonatal unit at a local hospital in my town.
|
Beautiful quilts and so generous of you to be making so many charity quilts.

tslowery...... My grandson was born with his intestines outside his little body. He stayed in Chapel Hill Hospital for several weeks, the drs. were concerned about his bladder too, but he did fine. He is 2 yrs old now and doing really good. I will be praying for the little girl, by what you told us, she seems worse off than what my little grandson was. I am new at quiting too, and right now, I am in process with (2) twin quilts for my grandsons. Sailboats! My prayers are with the precious little girl and her family.

Bless you!!....:-)

They are great. Love the circle one - what a great way to use up some stash.
How big were your drunkards path blocks? |

hpylady I am so glad your grandson is ok. Kennedy has a website at kennedyjoiner.com. I thank you for your prayers and anyone else that can help with prayers and quilts if possible. I am glad your grandson is healthly and happy. Thanks again.

tslowery.......I clicked on Kennedy's website and it really touched my heart. I saw a little angel that God sent to show us how we do take our health for granted and how we should praise him everyday for the health we do have. Her mother, even though she is beautiful, shows the wear, tear and strain through her and Kennedy's struggle of life everyday. You can truely see how very much she loves her daughter. I know it has got to be hard to watch your daughter that you love with all your heart have to go through what Kennedy has to go through.
I am making a donation in the mail in the morning to the Kennedy Joiner Benevolent Fund. If any of you quilters read this, please visit Kennedy's website and let God guide your heart in how you can help. I hope it will touch you as it touched me. God gave us a chance with our grandson who was born with his intestines outside of his little body. He is doing fine now. He will be 2 yrs. old in May. |
