More Collages
2 Attachment(s)
Collages have led me to view fabrics in a new way! It's fun and relaxing. After the Seahorse class, I wanted to try my own designs. First, I drew the sand dollar to collage. After trying to mount it on the stretched canvas frame, I turned to YT to fix bulk at corners. Then, I wanted to make the letter A for DD with pink. I collaged the letter on light pink, but didn't finish it yet. I thought, "Collage background, and leave letter A as negative space! That's what she got!

Great job! Collages are fun. aren't theyI haven't attempted my own designs yet.

They are both lovely, but the sand dollar is my favorite as the plain background really focuses your eye on the center.

I agree the sand dollar really stands out. Will be watching for more art pieces.

Thanks, all! These projects were certainly a learning experience. I started by designing small projects to test what techniques work. Now I know that graphics need to be larger than 1.5", possibly 3"? The smaller graphics get lost in larger areas. Also, the fabric for the A was already mish-mashed, so it didn't work as well as the fish. All that hard work ended up looking a lot like the virgin piece!

you are on a roll, well done.
