More Night Owls...
1 Attachment(s)
I posted yesterday my first night owl that I made from a Regina Grewe pattern. I love her patterns and can not say enough nice things about them...
Anyhooo... I promised to share more of them as I got them completed. I'll be taking an owl break for the next few days as I have a lot of house and yard work to get done... but this was a nice diversion for a bit. I'll finish them up and get it quilted next week :) Here are my next four night owls. I am not 100% thrilled with one or two of them and am planning on making replacements before I make my wall hanging. The one(s) that I do not use will be made up in to art quilts for the Alzheimer Art Quilt Initiative that I make quilts for. Here is a link to Regina's site. She has some wonderful patterns both for free and for a small fee - no, I'm not a paid sponsor lol. I just really like her designs :) http://www.reginagrewe.de/index_e.html |

Fabulous owls!!!

I love these little chaps. I must make some soon. The eyes seemed a bit tricky and rather intricate but yours have come out really well. thanks for sharing.

I used an add an eighth ruler around the small eye pieces which helps to not have that added bulk of using the add a quarter ruler in tight spots. I don't mind the little pieces at all - but I would not do an entire quilt with just tiny pieces that's for sure! I find them to be no different than the larger pieces to be honest with you. Line it up, sew, trim, fold and wooden iron it down then move on to the next piece. I know. I just made that sound super simple lol. I have become really good friends with paper piecing. I have been enjoying it so much. I just love the pictures and designs you can achieve with very little stress. |
