finally got pictures of other quilts made for family. the red one is for my dad & his wife, which i think looks really nice. i am not a big fan of red, but she is and the other one was a challenge in my quilt guild. we had six fabrics to work with & could pick two others, plus it had to be pieced with some applique. didn't win anything on it, but who cares, it turned out really nice. if only that day job wouldn't get in my way of sewing..........

I love both patterns. I think they are both worthy of prizes. They look great.

Oh my! These are great. I'm not a red fan either, but my kids are. It's a beautiful pattern and a "subtle" red. The brownish one is really nice too. I can spend hours and hours looking at all the fine pictures here. Thanx for posting. Sara

Wow--if that one didn't win a prize I can't imagine what the winner looked like! You are amazingly talented. :!: :!: :!:

I can't wait to see more. :D

My parents would have loved that red quilt--has a Danish look to it.

makes red look good! I think that pattern would look very nice in any color, what's it called?

loulou 01-18-2008 04:18 AM

it is called sisters choice from one of debbie caffrey's books, combined with a framed nine patch. gotta love debbie caffrey ideas, starts with 2 1/2" strips and basically pretty easy & fast to make.

"if only that day job wouldn't get in my way of sewing.........."

That made me smile....I have that problem, too. You seem able to get around though from the looks of these beautiful quilts!
