well now that I've got the hang of this I will see what else I can post. I don't know where all of my pics are. I really love looking at all of the work posted on this site. Is anyone in the Atlanta area?

school project - eighth grade class made each of the blocks using wonderunder and now I must assemble and quilt.

Good job!
I am up in the Northwest, but I'll bet you have a LOT of buddies in Altanta ... they are a crafty group down over there <g>

Nice.

I live near Anderson SC which is about a 2 hour drive to Atlanta. I will be in Atlanta Sept 4-7 for Dragon Con.

Love them both. Is the tree a table topper or hanging? So cute.

Cute Tree, and the quilt looks as if it was fun too. BTW, Ducky, I still miss your little ducks avatar, thought the young lady is obviously dear to you.

nice tree, karen, and I love teaching crafty/quilting things, to the kids, these days. Great memento!

both the quilts are wonderful. are you a teacher or did you volunteer you time to the class to make the quilt?

karenherdina 07-08-2009 03:30 PM

The school where I teach has a "Georgia History Day" for the eighth grade and the students get to see many demonstrations and speakers about Georgia History and I and another teacher presented on quilting in Georgia. It was great to be able to expose them to the art!

wonderful work! looks like the Georgia quilt is a labor of love. what a great memory for the students. is it going to be displayed at the school?

karenherdina 07-08-2009 04:55 PM

I hope so (if I get it finished). When we do it again next year it definitely will be displayed. Thanks for all the nice comments.

Hi Karen-welcome to the board! I like your quilts and I love that you are exposing young minds to quilting too!!

I live an hour south of Atlanta in Forsyth (Monroe County). I am very familiar with Cumming---went to college in Dahlonega.
