Most of my 2018 finishes
7 Attachment(s)
For a good part of 2018 I have been working on quilts for some of the young ones in our family. These are pics of those quilts. All were done QAYG, all have fleece backing. I have posted pics in the works or complete of most of these. I may have to do this in 2 posts.
Native Cubes this has 3D cubes the printed fabric was what I had left from a quilt I made for my Uncle, I made the top and bottom "binding" into fringe I love how this one turned out, it was made w/ 2 tie dye panels and the black background fabric. Both fabrics were stacked repeat cut w/ 8 repeats. I will be making this again!!!! I also fringed this one on top and bottom, but didn't like the backing fleece alone, so double layered the fleece and made it so every other fringe was black / backing fleece. I made up the fringe idea as I went and it turned out even better then I imagined. Frozen Cubes was made from a Frozen (movie) fabric, all stacked repeat cut for the block fronts. To be continued on the next post .................. |
They look fantastic.

.................. and for the next ones.
Frozen Cubes, also made from Frozen fabric, these are 24 blade repeat stacked cut, all 24 plates!!!! Love how this one turned out, the background and center circle pieces are also repeat stacked cut from fossil fern fabric. I had just got a new sewing machine that had the cutest snowflake fancy stitch so that is what I used to quilt around the center circles and the outer edges of the dressies. This one is stacked repeat cut octagons for the big 9 octos, each flanked w/ repeat stacked cut hexies, w/ repeat stacked cut squares forming each octo/hexie into squares. |

Trying to digest all this at one time. The frozen quilt is my favorite until I look at them again, then I change my mind until I look again. Okay I like them all. The 3d blocks are great until......okay I can't make up my mind which I like best so I must be awestruck. Job well done on all of them. Thanks for sharing.

Wow is about all I seem to keep repeating as I scroll. Wonderful wonderful patterns and work. Love them all.

All are amazing! You are so clever with your creativity and it's so fun to just stare at the details. My eye was drawn to the hearts illuminating from the center of your one tie-dye piece! Again, they are all just amazing :)

Thanks everyone, I had a lot of fun designing and making them, and really hope they are well received. I know the mom of one of the kids is already threatening to "keep" the tie dye one safe (on her bed) until the child is "older" lol lol lol
Christine, I didn't make the tie dye panels, I included them to show the fabric I made the quilt from. The tie dye panels are from Anthology's Cube - bori collection. |
Kass all of your quilts are spectacular, my favorite is the Frozen dressie quilt!
|
Oh, my, fantastic quilts...your fabric choices make these spectacular!

You have been busy. All the quilts are great. It's interesting how they all look so different. Now it's going to be hard to find something to do for an encore! But you really don't need one...you've really done nice work on these.
|
You have such a unique perspective on quilting and you have your own style of doing it. I think your quilts are wonderful! Great job!
|
You are a very creative and productive quilter. I haven't done any stacking cuts, but your results are super.
|
The tie dye panels are what I used to make the black / bright octo quilt.
