I made this motorcycle top for my DS Jacob (9 yo) a while back and since have decided to piece the back using these stars. This will be my first large quilt that I will quilt on my regular Janome. This way he'll have a reversible quilt. I love the flame fabric on this one and had a lot of fun making it.
I'm not really happy with the star quilt at this time, I don't like so much blue. I'm thinking of making a few orange and green with different colored centers. The star in the center is a canary yellow confetti material with lots of colors. Anyone have any ideas for sprucing this up a bit? I'm thinking also of sewing sashing strips in between the stars. I don't know, what do you think? I love the bright colors!!!

Love the first one. I think I would use some more yellow in the second one.

I very much like the motorcycle one. I like the blue and yellow. I think the star one need some lighter colored sashing. Pretty stars!

confetti star quilt block - use a vivid giraffe print for the border. and, by the way, they all are darling. :)

I like it they way it is. Wouldn't change a thing.

I love the motorcycle side, has Jacob seen it yet? The stars are very pretty, I like the idea of adding a sashing. Maybe rotate the stars? It would give the quilt more movement.
Can't wait to see what you decide on :D:D:D |
darling! he'll be dragging that motorcycle quilt off to college! hahaha... really nice work.
