Makes me feel inadequate. I do love the work and am a little jealous. Looking forward to MQX being here in Portland.

Thank you for treating us to the armchair quilt show.

WOW! I'm blown away by the whole cloth quilts using different colored threads.

And the Cathedral with Moorish arches - both piecing and quilting are amazing. Thank you for taking the close up of it, so we could see that it was actually pieced - at first I though it might have been a photo reproduced on cloth! It was so perfect re depth and the arches. That's not easy - even when you DRAW it!

These quilts are truly MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!!!! There are some brilliantly talented people out there. Thanks for sharing. One question: In the white wholecloth, does anyone know what feather patterns were used? Surely, this wasn't done freehand. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Belinda,

I suspect the quilter of this wholecloth marked out the quilt with a repetitive feather motif she most likely designed herself. So in essence, it was done free hand but was carefully measured and marked out prior to quilting. I would not be surprised if this quilter was a student of Karen McTavish as I see a lot of Karen's influence in this quilt. Several of the wholecloths at this show had their beginnings in Karen's wholecloth marking workshop, in fact one of the winners started as that.
