I was taking my DD to her Bf's house in the county when I drove by a yard sale at 65mph and and all I could see was a sewing machine and there was junk all over the place but at 65mph that is all I couldn't see any of the junk. So on my way back I stopped in the hopes that there would be other sewing stuff but no. I asked the gentleman what he wanted for the machine even tho there was not a cord. I looked it over and all the parts move and it has it's bobbin case intact. He said i will take $2.00. So I brought it home.
If I can't find a cord for it then I might decorate it with buttons like the one that was posted on here before. side view montgomery ward label front view |
cool, hope you find a cord for it, ask billy
|
I'll give you $4 for it! lol Great find. You should be able to find a cord for it.
|
I might contact the brother sewing place in Paducah and see what they say. It has their sticker on it so they must have handled it at one point.

Try these. I haven't tried them, but I found while searching.

Way cool!! I'm Happy for you, hope you can find a cord and get it up and running. But if not will be cool to see it covered in buttons. If you need buttons let me know. I bet I can find a few around here.
:-D |
It looks in good condition too! Cords aren't that hard to find! Congratulations!! :-D
|
I sent an email to a guy that says he has parts for all sewing machines so we will see if he has it. he will probably want a small fortune for it.
|
i need to find an old one to "Button Up", it would look nice on my sewing room wall
|
Good find!
|
Wow Carrie.... Maybe you could even paint polka dots on it and sell it for an outrageously high price! It's cute!
|
Maybe I can find sunflower buttons to put on it. Maybe I don't need a cord after all.
|
Great buy Carrie. Hope you can find a cord.

Oh, you'll find a cord no doubt, and it's such a great story!! (What kind of plug is it? We'all might have one like what you need...)
And I'm laughing over here at the image of the 65mph fly-by. I thought you were going to say the tires screeching could be heard over the next hill and the smoke was visible in Dallas!! Haha! Seriously, won't it be fun to get her all up and running, and make a mini sampler on her, and display them together? |
I have a machine very similar to yours but on the top is a little door that you open and put in cams that are the decorative stitches. I have the book for mine if there are any questions that you have. I am pretty sure that somebody posted a picture of their machine that looked just like yours. I will see if I can find that post.
Yes, here it is: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-59689-1.htm |

Seriously, won't it be fun to get her all up and running, and make a mini sampler on her, and display them together? I might take a pic of the plug in prongs and see if any body can help. I really would like to get her up and running, I can tell she hasn't had a good cleaning in a long time. |
I finally heard from the guy about the cord and he wants $34.95 plus $8.00 shipping and handling. I don't think so!! Not for a $2.00 machine that may or may not work.
