Good eye. Way to think outside the box!

How nice!
The water and sky fabrics sure make the block. (I don't want to spoil the fun of the block, though, I don't want you to do a bunch and then be surprised and disappointed. You would need to extend your pattern on the top, to give you the 1/4" seam allowance. Otherwise when you join them together, your points on your sails are going to get lopped off.) Have FUN!! with this one |
Nice block......great water fabric!

Cute boat. But the sky needs more definition. (at least on my computer screen)
The boat block I've got used half square triangles. Probably should be called a ship instead of a sailboat------which this obviously is.

Love it but also loved the other one!

Thanks, to all, for the kind remarks.
There IS a quarter inch allowance at the top, it's just not showing in the picture. I picked up the water, sky and wood fabric at the quilt shop in Seaside, OR. I designed the block using Angleplay templates. I'm thinking about how to share the "how to". Thinking about a video. Julie |
So that was one of the stops in your trip home! Awesome!
