I wanted to post this to hear some feed back. I am making this for my son's first born. It will be my first Grandbaby. This is only the top of the quilt, I have not finished it all yet. I'm still going to put a border around the outside edge. Any ideas?

So pretty. Love the sunbonnet's girls.

sueisallaboutquilts 05-31-2010 06:54 PM

Ohhh, that looks so snuggly!! Really darling. Looks to me like you have a large choice of colors for the borders. Any of those colors would look great :D
Almost forgot- CONGRATULATIONS on your first grand!!!

Very cute! I say if it's a boy make the border blue. If it's a girl make the border pink! Just my opinion. Nice job.

Very cute. I think I would go with yellow. There seems to be quite a bit of it in the embroidery.

MamaBear61 06-01-2010 02:59 AM

Cute quilt, I think I would use one of the yellows too.

Farmer Girl 06-01-2010 03:12 AM

Hi and welcome to the Board! That is a beautiful baby quilt. I'm with the others, use one of the yellows for the border.

sahm4605 06-01-2010 03:26 AM

I would go nutreal if giving it before the baby is born. Go green. a nice and lovely shade. will work for both boys and girls. plus it will make it more colorful. And the baby can use it to learn their colors.

CarrieAnne 06-01-2010 03:34 AM

Wow, that is pretty! I think you could use almost anything for a border. Congrats on the new grand baby!

Adorable quilt, love the puffiness and pattern. And you are sooooo lucky!! There is nothing better than being a grandma!!

mimee4 06-01-2010 05:44 AM

Looks like this is for a girl. How about a pink fabric with some of the other colors in tiny flowers for the border? As you can tell, everyone has all sorts of ideas. Anything you do will be beautiful. And congrats on this grandchild. They are truly wonderful.

paintedquilt 06-01-2010 08:39 AM

Beautiful, I would suggest doing the same as the sashing :!:

And congratulations on your first grandbaby.
There may be others, and you will love them all, but the first is just a unique thrill.

You must be expecting a granddaughter,--using the sunbonnet sue design--I belive I'd go with pink for the border-most girls love pink. Very pretty and very bright.

quiltedlamb07 06-02-2010 05:58 PM

SunBonnet Sue is one of my favorite patterns. You have done an excellent job. I also love the colors you have chosen. Thanks for posting.
