I have been embroidering for 1 year now and just upgraded from a deco 340 to an artista 640E.
This is my 1st project and I feel like I'm starting all over again. I'm not use to a round hoop either  . These bookmarks are for 2 friends and 1 for myself. |
These bookmarks are really beautiful!
If I received one of these, I'd be afraid I'd lose it. Such wonderful handwork. Purple |
Those are very pretty!

Oh I REALLY should start using my machine embroidery more.....I have a Janome 9000 which I bought second hand of one of our guild members, and it does all sorts of embroidery, I have the scan n sew and the digitizer to download of the net etc.....no excuse and seeing your beautiful work shames me for not trying sooner lol!!
Maybe this weekend I will finally get to grips with it - thanks for the inspiration!! :D |
As an avid reader I would be thrilled to be your friend and receive one of these bookmarks. They are truly beautiful.
|
beautiful........great job!!
|
Those are lovely!
|
I love the colors and the pattern and i think I love everything about them.
|
Thank you. Hopefully tomorrow I can get back to working on my quilt for my son & DIL. I just finished up the embroidery on the squares, and now to finish sewing them together.
|
Those are GORGEOUS! Where did you get the design?
|
Beautiful. You are an inspiration.... I need to learn. My husband learned on our 630E and I haven't even tried! It's the hooping that scares me! Anyway, you are doing GREAT! Keep up the good work.

Those are great! I just upgraded from a 440QEE to a 630E. I'm going to have to look into how to make bookmarks, those are great gifts.
Did your pattern come built in? Debbie |
These are stunning. I hope that you are enjoying your new embroidery machine. I have never used round hoops either. I have the Brother PR-600 myself and a couple of singers that embroider as well but I use my six needle a lot more, it helps save a ton of time.

twistedstitcher, I can't remember where I got the design from, but I have had it awhile.
ladymyste, no it is not a builtin design. Your machine is very much like mine. Here's how I make bookmarks... hoop WSS (water soluable stabilizer) and run the placement stitch for the applique. Then place 1 layer of ultrafirm stabilizer on top of the placement line, and 1 layer of sprayed (I use 505) fabric on top of that, and run the placement line again to hold the fabric in place. Then emb the design. After that, take the hoop off your machine DO NOT UNHOOP. Turn it over and place 1 layer of sprayed fabric on the placement line and put your hoop back on your machine. Run the placement line again, remove from machine again (still don't unhoop) and trim fabric and ultrafirm on both sides. Return to machine and run the tac down stitch and satin stitch. Then remove from hoop. |
Thanks for the info. I haven't gone through all the emrboidery stitches on my machine yet so I wasn't sure how much of a difference in designs there was between the 630 & 640.
I have a ton of designs that I downloaded when I had my 440 that would work great for this. Thanks again. |
Knock my socks off...your bookmarks and embroidery are gorgeous. You're no piker where creativity, beauty and nice work come in. THanks for sharing.

Wow, gorgeous!
At first I thought they were wall hangings  careful not to lose those bookmarks, I'm always misplacing, dropping or losing mine. Put a longggggg chain and lock on them so that they don't walk away, hugs sue |
Those are gorgeous. I would not mind having one
