I'd like to know also. Thanks for posting this question

I am not sure the difference in stack & whacks and OBW's but from what I have done and seen on here the stack & whacks usually use a background fabric for piecing and the OBW's seem to be just the blocks all sewn together without any other fabric...someone please correct me if I am wrong.
I personally prefer the stack & whack quilts.

I made one and loved how the blocks were so differant. Yours is going to be great. Good job.

I like that block - bet the rest will be just as interesting!

daisey 01-28-2011 08:33 PM

Thanks its pretty fabric so hopefully it will look nice..whack and stack are different because they use 2 fabrics...the one block wonders just use one piece of fabric...both are cool, I think whack and stacks are faster because they are larger blocks..When I finish I will post the quilt...Thanks

Keep going, it will be such a neat quilt!!

I made a stack and whack crazy quilt a few yrs ago...it was 9 fabrics cut at the same time and then sorted one piece at a time so that each block contained 1 of each fabric in the block...when when sewn together I squared it by a focal I liked in each square...all were random cuts and each block was different(99 of them)...the OBW is the same fabric throughout the quilts

BizzieLizzie 01-29-2011 02:11 AM

nice one!

Bzaney 01-29-2011 02:55 AM

I'd never heard of stack and whack quilts until I found this board. Love all the blocks I've seen but wonder, is everyone using a template to cut the pieces?
