My 2018 Finished Projects

7 Attachment(s)
Now that I'm retired, I'm making more progress on quilt projects. While I've worked on some others, these are the projects I finished (not necessarily started) this year. I think I posted the placemats before. The underwater scene was an original design, based on a group challenge to use one of the Hoffman "Supernova" prints. The scene with the tree and flowers was a challenge for the 10th anniversary of a local guild. The others have been or will be gifted by Christmas. Thanks for looking!

Congratulations on your retirement. It certainly looks like you are enjoying the extra time to be in your sewing room. Wonderful finishes and hope some of them were items you took from a UFO pile...that always has a great feeling.

Yes, you have shifted gears in life beautifully. Nice projects and that word, finished, has a great ring. Enjoy.

jmoore, you've made me smile. Only one was from my UFO pile. My UFO pile actually got bigger. But now that I've been able to practice more with my mid-arm, I should be ready to finish up more UFOs in the 2019. First, I'll have to put together some backing fabric and add some borders. But since I think I'd only finished two miniature quilts over the past five or so years, I'm very happy with the tally for 2018!

2018 was a very productive year for you & you did well! I love them all but adore the brown/black quilt. Can't wait to see what you do in 2019!

Wonderful looking quilts.

Love the underwater one. It's like looking up from the Blue Hole (I think thats what it's called) and heading for the surface and the sunshine. Really nice.

Greenheron 11-18-2018 04:07 PM

M-m-m-m good looking projects there. Congratulations.

Thank you! That was exactly the effect for which I was aiming, based on snorkeling in the Galapagos. The animals are all ones I've seen on my trips there.

You’ve accomplished a lot this year! I love the underwater quilt!

Sallybear6 11-19-2018 06:49 AM

You have made some wonderful quilts this year! I am looking forward to the day I can stay in my pj's and stay in my sewing room all day :)

Cheshirepat 11-19-2018 08:52 AM

Congratulations! I'm sure that's a wonderful feeling to have so much done! I can't wait to retire...it's waaaaay too far off right now for my liking!

Boston1954 11-19-2018 12:21 PM

That is inspiring! Makes me want to run to the sewing room right now. I love the one with the vegetables.

There's a nice batch of interesting projects. Not a bad one in the bunch, either!! I especially like the brown "bricks" with the black mortar. Happy Holidays to you.
