Ok, alot of women like the feather light machine. Well this one is my girl. She is a 99k. Which is the shortened 99... So she is the midget! Her nic name is Midge! She was given to me in A1 shape by a co workers wife when she found out about my sewing activities! So I think she should be named after her, JuJu! Can't decide.................

A great machine!

MamaBear61 06-13-2011 04:46 PM

Pretty, maybe her name should be Mijuju

irishrose 06-13-2011 04:51 PM

All 99s are 3/4 size machines. The K means she was manufactured in Scotland. What a pretty little girl!

frauhahn 06-13-2011 05:03 PM

She is a beauty!

sueisallaboutquilts 06-13-2011 05:21 PM

Just found a 99k for sale in my neighborhood....I am in love...how high should I go on price...as high as featherweights....$150-$300

emmah 06-14-2011 03:27 PM

Not that high. Check out completed listing on ebay--they come in anywhere from $45-$100 usually. But they are a great little machine, and tough as they come. Easy to clean and easy to maintain and sews a nice straight stitch--great for piecing.

Mousie 07-02-2011 04:57 AM

so cute!
As grateful as you are, she's not a loaner, so she deserves her own, unique name...
Midge says she is your baby, now!
Love her and she will be very good to you. Happy creating together! :)

I bought mine at a garage sale in my neighborhood for $10. I had to clean it up, oil it and replace the belt, but she sews pretty. There was only one presser foot with it, but I discovered my Elna snap-on ankle and feet fit it!

Does anyone know it they make a cabinet for the 99? The bottom frame is not in the best shape.

kwhite 07-02-2011 06:26 AM

Yes they do make a cabinet for it. I just found out this week that my DH's aunt has one in her upstairs. It is a #42 cabinet art deco style. It is sweet and there is one on sale on Ebay right now. It is pick up only so I don't know if it will be accessible to you, but you can see it there. I was trying to find out the value of this machine. I am glad this thread came up. Hers was born in Scotland on Feb 4th 1954
