Ok, send in the straight jacket, I'm officially addicted to these things :)
I started planning and cutting this around 2ish this afternoon, and I think I'm nearly done. It's as wide as I wanted, but not quite as long as I had hoped, so I think maye tomorrow I'm going to add another section to the bottom, and make it a bit more square. I like it this way, but it's not meant to be a wall hanging, it's supposed to be a lap quilt for a friend's house. Maybe I'll ask Sasha when he gets home if I should just leave it like this and add borders and present the gift as a wall hanging, not a sofa quilt...I like the way it looks now. |
Beautiful!

It's gorgeous! I'm still working up my nerve to try one. There is a pattern in one of the quilt mags this month for a wall hanging that is calling me.

OMG, try it, trust me!
They look so complicated but aren't really. For this one, I just picked 10 fabrics out of my browns, cut them into 2" strips, sewed them in order and then decided how I wanted my curve to go. Easy peasy! I didn't even follow a pattern or anything! |
If I were you I would add at least three more rows. That way the smallest pieces just off center will form a nice peak in the drark brown and reall bring out the movement there and it will look more finished.

Looking good! :)

Beautiful! Definitely on my list to try some day!

Great job!
My wife loves Bargello quilts. We got a book at a yard sale and they have a starter pattern for a set of placemats. I think we'll try that first and use it for a Christmas gift, then jump into a quilt of some kind. Thanks for the inspiration. Darren |
Awesome! I am in love with bargello quilts! Just haven't had the nerve to try one yet.
