In June my Aunt Connie passed away from lung cancer. I took care of her so she didn't have to go to a nursing home. After she passed a friend I met on the board asked me to share a few memories of my aunt that I had. The first thing I mentioned to her was the morning chats we had over coffee everyday. I miss those special times alot. Well my amazing friend Cheryl sent me this fabric and told me it was something I could snuggle up with and remember my aunt. She was so right. I thought of her thru the entire process and when I did the last stitch on the binding this morning I almost cried. My pics arent the best, I couldnt get the whole quilt in the pic by myself. But you will see what I mean when I say Cheryl couldnt have picked any better fabric for me to use. Thank You a bunch Cheryl. I love how it turned out, and I think of my aunt everytime I look at it.

I lost my aunt the end of May to lung cancer too and I miss her so much it is still very raw pain. I love your idea and will be on the hunt for fabric that reminds me of her VW Bug and the incredible way she got me to drive again after a bad accident. Thank you (with tears in my eyes) for the wonderful post.

I've been working on a quilt that I started just before my mom passed in December. I get so emotional I have to put it away and work on it a little at a time. It's done in all her favorite colors of purple. Hopefully I can get to work on it and not break down each time. Prayers to you both.
BTW..your quilt is beautiful and especially love your quilt inspector ;0) |
a lovely quilt with a lovely story to go with it.
