My Avatar pic quilt, bigger pic...

1 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone,
For those of you who have pm'd me wanting info, here is the larger pic of my avatar quilt. I made it as a bom at my lqs. It is 10 different patterns. The name of my set of patterns is: Schoolhouse Series by Sandi Ray. It also has "Learn a "skill a month" in this 10 month learning series.". It is the 1st quilt I ever made, other than a Sunbonnet Sue applique quilt I made by hand, and the little bit of quilting and sewing my wonderful grandma taught me many years ago. I still do some hand quilting, but after finding my great lqs, and making this quilt by machine, I love quilting both ways...and I will say this quilt along with my lqs teacher did teach me a lot about quilting!!
2 years ago when I made this quilt, I tried to research it, and it seemed it was oop...last night I did a google search again, and I found the following link. It appears it has been re-released, and re-named...the colors are also different. Here is the link:
http://www.pineneedlequiltshop.com/L...nfo/BOM-LTSBR1
This is the only place I found it so far...I sure wish one could by a series quilt pattern without having to buy it as a kit; for those of us who have a ton of fabric and or want to choose our own colors...
Regards all,
Kif

Cute quilt, and it does require a number of different skills, so it's a good teaching sampler.

Yes, I have the patterns, I just meant I love bom quilts, and I wish could by just the patterns on some of them that are only offered "kitted" with fabrics...and there have been several peeps who have pm'd me wanting to know where to get the pattern, the only place I am finding it offers it only in a kit, $24.95 a month...also, thanks to all of you who like the color scheme, I can't take credit for it as I made this quilt in a class at my lqs...the owner/teacher chose all the fabrics...lastly, I will admit, I do like it, but it is "busier" than I thought it would be....lol..

Kif

Hi Kiffie,
Great job on your first quilt! I live close to the one store that offers the kit, and I almost joined the Bom and monthly class.
P.s.
I hope your son had a lovely wedding this summer.

Hi Jennie, thanks so much, the wedding was lovely....and when my son got down on one knee and gave his daughter to be her little ring and "took her to be his daughter and raise her and love her as his own." there wasn't a dry eye in the place...including my dear hubby....So, now dh and I are enjoying the perks of "Grammy and Grampy-hood"...Our lil granddaughter was 3 in June, and she is awesome!! Our son will be adopting her, as my sweet daughter-in-law's 1st husband passed away when granddaughter was just a few months old....so, while we are "over the moon" for them all, it is bittersweet knowing such a young man died.. We like to say there are never enough grandparents to go around, so the 3 sets of us will just love and "spoil" our little sweetie...
Regards all,
Kif

What a beautiful job you have done! I am trying to finish mine now (after quite a few years) and realize that I have lost lessons 6 and 7. I have been looking for the pattern everywhere and can't find it. Have you had any recent luck? The link you have listed is no longer valid.

Jane Quilter 05-21-2016 01:35 PM

Wow, I just love it.

Thank you for the compliments!
When I made mine, I took it as a class at my lqs, she'd had the patterns for a few years. When I 1st posted about here, and others wanted to know about it, I didn't find the original pattern set, but found it re-released in a new fabric combo, looked like bright batiks.
Recently I was looking to try to find it for a friend on FB, and now I can't find it at all either.
It sure is frustrating when this happens.
