Beautiful quilt!

I'd do a very narrow border with the dark orange and then a wider border with one of your blues--wow--I love your colors and you did a great job. I've fallen in love with bargello--they looks so hard but really aren't!

Did you make this from a kit or your own design?? This is most beautiful.

The pattern is from Eileen wrights twist and turn Bargello quilts. And it really is much easier than it looks. The fabric is in the dryer now... I think I need to makes some more stripsets too. So much easier if I would take the time to think through my basic math and buy enough fabric to make it 2x the size in the 1st place!

It is very pretty. I love it. I am going to take a class for bargello at Quilt University Online on Jan. 6. I hope to learn alot about getting to know this type of artwork because I think it is so beautiful.

I would find 2 border fabrics; one in a golden print and one in a blue print. ThenI would put them with their colors in the quilt effectively continuing the colors to the edge instead of sealing the gold and blue inside of the border. If you REALLY want the color sealed inside, then I would border it in a black print.

Really pretty - I'm dying to do one of these - but slightly "chicken". Is it hard to do??

Looks great, I've no idea what I would do for borders, maybe the darkest blue?

rosequilter 12-27-2011 11:30 AM

It's fabulous! I haven't done a Bargello yet but have the pattern, etc. Yours is darling!

shnnn 12-27-2011 04:37 PM

There are 20 colors in this one. I have the darkest blue, and a bright orange for borders... still not sure what I'm going to do with them... I put all my sewing stuff away to make room for santa, and haven't yet got the christmas wreckage cleaned up to get it back out. I'm going to start with 2" of the dark blue, then just wing it from there I think

Mamatron 12-27-2011 05:30 PM
