I recently made a duvet cover for a silk comforter I brought home from China in 2008. I couldn't find fabric I was will to experiment with as I needed so much and hadn't made something like this before. A good friend had 12 yards of 54" cotton she had purchased to make curtains for a guest room years ago. In the meantime she moved and no longer needed the curtains so she offered me the fabric to get it out of her house. What a deal! I made the duvet cover and planned to make pillow shams and a bed runner from the leftovers. My friend suggested making the bed runner and using it as a sham. Thought I'd give it a try. What do you think?

I really like your bed runner used as pillow shams and if it is cold when you sleep, you can just put it at the bottom of the bed. You did a great job.

These are great! I love how you dressed up the bottom of the bed with the quilt runner. Free is great isn't it?
