Would never have guessed you were a beginner. More like a veteran. This is fabulous. I'm a beginner also, and in 10 years I doubt I'm this good. Great job!!!!!

Wow, wow, wow, you are a natural. You are so very brave (or you have a lot of disposable income!) to buy a LA when so new to quilting but obviously it was not a mistake. You have a natural talent and will only get better. I waited until I had been quilting for a long time before getting my longarm, but like you my first quilt off was something I was truly proud of. Here is a link to pictures I posted here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...rm-t77776.html

I too find drawing translates well to LAing and like you I can ONLY make feathers going up the spine (from bottom of spine to top). I can do them in any direction, horizontal, vertical, diagonal, in a circle, but I always have to work from my perceived bottom of the spine to top. Isn't that funny?

You will go places with your quilting LAing if you keep at it. Can't wait to see what else you produce. Good job and give yourself a well deserved pat on the back!

You are an OVER achiever - fantastic for an expert much less a beginner! Looks like you found your niche. Which long arm did you buy?

char634w 01-13-2012 03:00 PM

I can't even imagine ever being that good and I am not a beginner. I am amazed at your instant talent - I guess some people are just born with it????

JENNR8R 01-14-2012 05:36 AM

You must be a natural. I don't think I'll ever be that good. Great job!!!

mrsmail 01-14-2012 05:55 AM

Your quilting is beautiful.

daisydebby 01-14-2012 06:11 AM

Just love how soft the colors read. You did a fantastic job of piecing and quilting. Do you mind sharing what type of Long Arm you just bought? I've been thinking seriously this past year of buying one. THanks again@@

Geri B 01-14-2012 06:58 AM

Well it certainly looks like you are a speedy learner......from not knowing how to sew to longarm feathers in a short time...........

wolph33 01-14-2012 07:00 AM

For a "First" I think you have topped me and I have pieced over 40 quilt tops and 60 lap quilts. You have a natural talent and you are really blessed.
