Here she is. I made this for myself and DD saw it and said I could keep her quilting fabric (Moda Natures (?) over $200 worth) if I let her keep the bag. This from a girl, oops women (she's 34), who never carries a purse. I used pre-quilted fabric from JA's, a magnetic snap, and used double layer of plastic canvas in the bottom. Haven't made the sleeve for that yet.
She let me borrow it. :-) |
Really pretty-I'm not a fan of blue and yellow but now that I see yours I'm liking it a lot. Great job!
|
That is so pretty. I can see why she wanted it.

Thanks ladies. This combo is one of my favs.
Well, medicine is kicking in and I took a sleepy pill so I can rest and also 'cuz I have low grade fever. I will drink the rest of my tea while I finish the church bulletin for tom. if my head doesn't 'hit the deck first. Nitey nite. |
Ooooo, purdy!:)

Favorite pattern, favorite colors. Good Job.

Your Blue & Yellow fabric combination is truly beautiful!! Way to go!! I hope you make another one just like it for yourself. Thank you for sharing today!!
:D :D :D :D |
Its beautiful and I love blue and yellow together, blue and gold are Wv. colors so we love it here. I got two kits but they weren't quilted material so I may go buy some before I make the bags. I wanted to do one this week but don't know when I will get to it. You did a really good job! Libby

Wow, just checked back after a few days.
Thank you all for your sweet comments. I still have not gotten another one made, but have plenty of fabric for it. I'm backin school so will be awhile before I get one made. Thanks you again. |
I love the fabrics you used! Very pretty
|
Wow those colors are awresome, my sister would love that.
|
very pretty.. i have thought about using the prequilted.. still on the fence with it..
|
I also made one using the prequilted fabric...did you still double-layer it? I.e., did you cut a piece of the prequilted for the front, one for the back, one for each bottom, one for front lining, one for back lining, etc.
So that the whole bag is six layers thick (each prequilted piece is 3 layers), including lining, not including pockets? Anyway, I've been admiring that fabric (in Joann's, right?). |
Just checked back here. Yes the fabric was from JA and they still carry it.
I did layer the front and lining but did not add extra batting as I did not like the bulk when I tried it. I still have not finished the sleeve for the bottom, but DD used the tote today and does not mind it shows the plastic bottom. Oh my, I need to finish it. Thanks again. Need to get my fall one completed. |
 :D good trade!!
