For my brother
 

Hand quilted. The white border around the star was taken from our great grandmother's bedspread. The spread was found in a box that was under water in my moms flooded house, really bad shape. I was able to cut enough good pieces for this quilt and one for myself (not quilted yet). Hard to see, but there are beautiful designs in the white.

Great quilt. I love the blocks surrounding the center... it's a great way to expand the size of any quilt when perhaps you have is scraps.

You created a treasure out of a tragedy by making lovely quilt. I know it will be loved. We will be anxious to see the quilt you make for yourself from other parts of the ruined quilt. Family treasures are ingrained into our very being.
