Woohoo! I just finished putting this together and it is sooo pretty! Thanks to all the Christmas DJ swappers  Now...If only I knew how to bind an inside corner...I didn't quite think that far ahead.

I love it though and I'm so happy with the way its turned out so far. I'm planning to quilt in the ditch...starting maybe tomorrow.

Oh yes, I do have 3 beauties left over that I will use to make hot pads/trivets. They will look great with the table runner.

Beautiful!!! I love all of your blocks, what a treasure!!! :D:D:D

I am thinking this tute might help, only in the dips you would kinda reverse the technique...I am at loss for words to describe what I mean...

Ok...I'm a little slow tonight. I followed the link, makes sense but at first I couldn't wrap my little pea brain around it!

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 12-13-2009 07:58 PM

Gorgeous!! I love the zig zag edges.

soniboo 12-13-2009 08:00 PM

It's beautiful! You have to be so proud of it!

JoanneS 12-13-2009 08:28 PM

It's beautiful - and I'm so pleased to see my 2 blocks in it! Yours is the 1st finished one that I've seen. You must have finished your Christmas shopping and wrapping early!

ranger 12-14-2009 03:55 AM

OH, I just love it! Beautiful!

Iluv2quilt 12-14-2009 06:37 AM

Your sashing looks great! What a great idea. This will look so pretty on a table, I'm still debating what I should do with mine. I think a small throw quilt.

Ninnie 12-14-2009 07:14 AM

That turned out beautiful!!

Jeannie 12-14-2009 10:02 AM

I am still new to the terms used! When you do a swap do you make a block for each person in the swap? Is that block the same for each person? How do you know what block to use.
Thanks and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you wonderful quilters. I so enjoy this site (I probably stay on it toooo much) and have learned so much. Let's hope 2010 will find all of us smiling and quilting!

The blocks on here usually involve you making so many of one block. For the DJ exchange we each made 18 blocks all the same. You send them to a certain person with a return envelope and then you get back 18 differetn blocks, one of which is the one you did. Clear as mud? You can do multiple sets and get more blocks, so you might do 18 of one block and then 18 of a different one. The larger blocks usually involve doing 12 blocks. There is actually a chocolate Raspberry exchange that's still open for sign ups.

That turned out beautifully, Patti! I'm doing a table runner with mine as well, on a white-on-white background to make the blocks really stand out (though it occurs to me - belatedly - that white isn't the best colour for a table runner. Hmmm. Maybe a wall hanging instead?)

I hope to see other people's creations with the Chistmas DJ blocks!

OK, question! What does "birth" mean?!

Patti, That looks great!!! (I see two of mine)

Jeannie 12-14-2009 01:15 PM

Right sides of runner together. Sew all the way around but leave opening (I would leave on the end). Pull it through the opening and stitch the opening. clear as mud??

Janstar 12-14-2009 04:08 PM

Looks really pretty Patti! I'm working on mine too. I'll post when finished.

sandpat 12-14-2009 04:36 PM

Thanks all! I couldn't start the quilting today...had an appt., but hopefully tomorrow..and NO...I don't have all my Christmas stuff done, I just love to live on the edge....LOL!!!

amma, thanks for the link...I can do the outer corner..figured that out on another project that had a weird shape..its the inners that I'm going to have to play with to figure out...maybe I can just reverse...I'm one that has to play with it hands on to "get it"...

Loretta...that is a great idea....I might resort to that...depending on my stress level at the time.

sandpat 12-14-2009 04:36 PM

Jan, can't wait to see yours!

I bet they really do POP with the w/w background!...You could go ahead and use it for a table runner. I'm thinking about spraying mine with scotchguard...has anyone done that?

sandpat 12-15-2009 09:00 AM

I found this to tell me how to do the innies....looks easy to me! I'll let ya' know.

Patti--what an awesome table runner!!! How long is it? You must have a big table!

I love how you set them on point---I would have just lined them up and sewn them together--not too much originality here!!

Thanks Patti - kinda like sewing a Vneck. I've put the tute in 'favorites.'

Thanks Marcia....the runner is 51" long and 22" wide...so not too bad. It does stretch the length of my table from end to end. I'll keep it on there during the day, then when we eat...I'll replace it with place mats I think. I don't know...we'll see. I just liked the blocks on point and I had been planning to use them like this since the swap began. Figured...it couldn't hurt to try one like this!
