it is down with raw edge applique and some thread painting on a patchwork background, so the cathedral windows can be set into the seams

These are the ones that are hanging this year, I have 6 or so that didn't make it to the wall this year. Last year I put them all up and you felt like you were in a quilt coccoon.

I'm glad you like it. I designed the pattern for a quilters' retreat a few years ago.

I found this pattern if you don't do machine embroidery. The same Santas as in the wall hanging. I need to get this one - it is big!

I am just drooling all over my keyboard looking at your Christmas quilts!! Love, love, love them. I also do machine embroidery (along with quilting and counted cross stitch) and would be very interested in locating the Nicholas's New Friends embroidery patterns. I googled and found something about Nancy Barrett - who does quilt patterns including applique but wasn't sure if this is the designer/digitizer of these designs. Forgive me if this has been asked in later messages - I am so excited that I just had to write right now! You can PM me if it's easier.

Thanks,
Sandy in Mooresville, NC

Crlyn 12-19-2010 01:29 PM

You have been a right busy little bee........well done! :D

grannypat7925 12-19-2010 01:51 PM

WOW! Beautiful stuff......you sure have been busy!

marciacp 12-19-2010 02:10 PM

O.K., I am officially jealous. I love the ones
with the Santa's in them. I am guessing that
the one with a different Santa in each block
was done with an embroidery machine - right?
Do you have the name of the pattern that is
a sampler with some Santa's in it? Anyway,
I love them all.
Marcia
