So I went to the town-wide yard sale today with Michael's mother. It was all crap. I was very disappointed. No cool boxes of fabric. I did find a cool wing-backed chair and ottoman set for $10. I was gonna get it and reupholster them but decided not to. Michael is too tall for the back of it and I didn't want to put all that work into for nothing. But we stopped at one of the town's restaurants. It's in the old RR station. I found a couple really old quilting books. They were black and white and called Grandma's something or nother. I did buy one though. So all in all the trip was a success cuz I got me a really cool and informative new-to-me book. From 1940!!!!! I love it!!!

A how-to on working with FUR!! Crazy! I don't think I'd use real fur on anything though.

Awesome find, I love it! I myself love to collect vintage and antique's. I myself see this as a VERY GOOD find. Even though you did not find stuff at the yard sales, this was far better IMO

Cool sewing book! My neighbor gave me one from back in the day too.

I love the old books!
The tips in there are awesome!
I have my moms Betty Crocker Cookbook from when she got married in the 50s. Not to mention another book that has all the "do's and don't's" for etiquette.

Wow! I love old books, too!
At our university library here the sewing section is not great, but the old sewing books they do have there are wonderful! From 50s and 40s!
Trnhi, I love old etiquette books and pick them up when I find them for a good price. They make me smile! One from 1952 has a chapter called "Gracious Living without Servants"! :)

Thanks! I have an antique etiquette book. It's Manners in a Nut Shell I believe. The cover is somewhat damaged but it's so fun to read. Amazing how things change over the years!
