I have the fabric all purchased for the next one which is going to be in shades of reds and blacks. My son chose the colors, I don't know how it's going to look when done. We shall see. Of course I'll share pictures when I get to that point.

Wow...how beautiful! I've never had the urge to do a Mariner's block. Like someone else said, getting two points together scares me to death, too. I appreciate your color choices and your beautiful workmanship. I can see why your husband won't let you give it away.Good job.

Can I ask who and how someone added the red link to my post? I didn't put that in my post so how did someone else edit it?? Thanks

May I ask, what size are your diamonds (both the small & large)? BTW, both are beautiful! I love the way you put the "brighter" color in the center instead of a dark; it really makes your stars "shine".

These were made using that strip method cutting on a 45 degree angle. I won't fib and say it was easy. It was challenging for sure. I liked this pattern because it matched the outer tips with the center, all others I've seen don't do that. I did just get a book on making them without diamonds she uses hst and rectangles, that way there aren't any set in pieces. I think I'd have more trouble matching up the 100's and 100's of hst's.
Thank you all for the nice comments.

The small diamonds are 2"x 4" and the large are 22 1/4" x 9 1/4". I hope that helps.

Pretty, love the different shades of brown. Can't wait to see it finished.

I can't even imagine tackling anything this complex! Yours are both beautiful, though! I love the colors in both of them.
