my darling son's golden anchor
1 Attachment(s)
I made this for my son who was in the Navy. THe ship he was on was the Boxer, the only ship in the Navy that had a golden anchor. IT was Petula Pinks free pattern, and im giving it to him for christmas this year. Was going to give it to him on his 30th birthday, but, i figured he could use it while its cold, cuz his birthday is in April.

That is an amazing quilt. I have a friend whose son also served on the Boxer. He was a gunners mate. He was a victim of PTSD and took his own life 4 years ago. We all miss him so much. He would have loved that quilt. I will show this to his mom as she is also a quilter.

Outstanding! He will appreciate your kindness~

What a co-incidence! I'm just about to start the very same quilt! Mine is going to a retired Navy Chief of 20 years from his loving wife. ( she's commissioned me to make it for her) Thanks for the lovely picture of yours for inspiration! You did a wonderful job on it!

I think there is a distinct possibility you may see a grown man tear up just a bit on Christmas morning when this beauty is unfurled. I especially love your background choices of blue and white only the white has sand dollars on it. What a wonderful gift for your son.
