When I go Los Angeles in a few weeks, I am going to buy my grandson a sewing machine...
he is 7 years old, his Mom does not sew....
but she is so proud that I am learning to sew that she is willing to learn yourself.

THEY CAN DO SOME SCRAP CRAZY PIECE QUILT THINGY THEMSELVES....

I am sure once the quilt top starts to come together, my grandson will be hooked.

He is so proud of the crazy quilt I made for him....and trust me, it is all wrong...as it was my first one.

I will take him shopping to get his fabric....

PLEASE KEEP POSTING YOUR PICTURES OF YOUR DAUGHER'S PROJECT.

I will show my grandson your daughter's picture!!!!

It's good to get them started early if they show an interest. She'll probably be out-shining you in a few years. lol

Did she choose the fabrics herself? I really like them! And the pictures - are they drawn with regular crayons or is there something special for drawing on fabric? Can you tell I don't have any little ones around? Love her drawings; that's going to be a really pretty quilt.

YEs she chose all the fabrics herself..that is why everything is pink. You can use regular crayons...you just have to heat set them....SHe traced the designs from a pattern...and then colored them herself. We just have to use a pressing sheet and then then iron the crayon in...and it is permanent. But they do have special fabric crayons you can buy also..just not much variety.

Oh, she is so cute! I know she will do a great job! She has a good teacher (her Mom). Tell her we all are rooting for her and hope to see her results after she is finished.
