My girl is 17 years old--in college since she graduated from high school a year early. She recently took up crocheting and is headed into knitting. The first afghan, or maybe not (the pictures never post in the right I attach them) -the flower one--was her first big project. The red, blue, black and gray log cabin one is one she just finished for her boyfriend for Christmas. She just emailed me the photos and gave me permission to show you. :D She's almost done with one for my in-laws. And everyone has a beautiful scarf!!

Both of them look great. I never quite got the hang of knitting and crochet, but admire it from afar.

Alot of work, and very pretty.

Crochet can be fast..........knitting slower..........give her time quilting is next. Thats one heap of yarn. Tell her they are beautiful, she sure did a great job.
I have figured out the pictures post backward.......put in photo 3 then 2 then 1 and they post 1-- 2-- 3..........my printer works that way to. last page first :D :D :D :D :D |
WOW those are great. I crochet too so can appreciate all the work that went into them. Impressive!!!

Very nice! I knit and crochet ( and taught myself Tatting) so I know how much work that is
What great gifts! |
Tell you daughter what a great job she did. I used to crochet but haven't made anything for several years. I have trouble taking time away from quilting. Your daughter is very talented.

Wow!!! What a talented family you have!! She did a beautiful job!!
|
You tell her that I said, Beautiful, Well Done. She did a very nice job. I love knitting and crocheting too. It's very relaxing. Looks like she's one of us.
|
whoa!!! very nice.

Those are absolutely beautiful!!! You can tell she knows whats she's doing! What a fantastic job, she really has a talent for that. I like to crochet but I have to stick with the Mile-A-Minute ones and would never compare mine to hers. I wish I had that much talent and a desire to do those things at such an early age. It reminds me of the old cross stitch samplers from the late 1800's into the early 1900's when girls were taught to cross stitch, crochet, embroder and quilt in school between the ages of 7 and 12. Wouldn't it be neat if they still did that! I think so but I bet the average 8 year old wouldn't agree with me. lol

Those are wonderful! They'll make great gifts! She did an excellent job!
