Is this a dorky gift???? She actually bought it and pieced it together....then, when we took it to my quilter to get an estimate, she said no way can I afford that right now. (She just graduated college and is substitute teaching until a job opens at the school).
She and her boyfriend just bought a house, so I got her quilt quilted for her. She has to add the binding still, but I convinced her to leave the quilt with me while they were moving into the new house. Then, I ran to the quilter's house as fast as I could!
So, is this a dorky gift since she bought it and pieced it???
BTW, I love the quilting and piecing, they both did an awesome job! This is to go in the first baby's room when they get married and pregnant. I will make a matching crib skirt. then, we move onto Brown Bear.

I think it is a great housewarming gift. now get the book to go with it and they have a conversation piece.

OMG, about as far from dorky as you can get! It's an absolutely fabulous idea, not to mention an absolutely fabulous quilt! That was so wonderful to think of doing this!

I think it's a wonderful gift!

I don't think it is a dorky gift at all. It would cost her a fortune to have the quilting done. I would finish it all the way by completing the binding, that is if you think she would not mind.

If that is what she wants then it is a wonderful gift.

Definitely a nice gift. I made a t-shirt quilt with my boys' baby clothes and my mom had it hand quilted for me. It was a great gift. Your daughter will love the gift!

Oh that is soooo cute!!

Your gift is thoughtful, and sooo appropriate for a house warming. The quilt is great and your daughter will definately not consider it dorky.

I would do the binding for her, but she is like me and likes to do her own binding. The other part of that is that she has the binding in her craft room and I can't figure out a good enough excuse to "borrow" it! LOL
