WOW!!! She is only 7??? She did a great job. I haven't tackled PP since a bad experience with it years ago but your daughter may have inspired me. Thanks

vivoaks 06-13-2011 05:40 AM

YES!!! Start them early, and they'll thank you for the rest of their lives! :-D She did a great job on it.

Puts me to shame... I spend days on my first piece! Please give her an "Atta Girl" for me!

Don't forget, she had some help. lol I've done a fair share of pp, so she wasn't on her own. I did all the cutting and ironing too.

katlady 06-13-2011 06:34 AM

Neat, keep on sewing it is fun.

Ann912 06-13-2011 06:35 AM

Great Job!! Also great that she wants to quilt at 7 yrs old. She will have many years of enjoyment ahead. Such a lucky girl to have you to show her the ropes

What did you start with? I found the beginner blocks weren't always the easiest to start with.

jeannie t 06-13-2011 06:48 AM

She's got "the" touch--
What's she going to do next?

Good question. She's been asking the same question. I think I'll go through Carol Doak's 300 PP Quilt Block book and see if anything grabs her. I do know I'll have to make it bigger than 3" though. She needs a bit more to hang on to.

GladGrams 06-13-2011 12:05 PM

Reminds me of the TV show where kids challenge adults... only we quilters can now ask - Can you PP as well as a 7 yr old? She is talented and has done a remarkable job!

Kallen 06-13-2011 12:38 PM

Well, that's inspiring! I've been afraid of paper piecing but if your little one can do it, maybe there's hope for me. Tell her she just inspired a grown-up.

L8quilter 06-13-2011 12:55 PM

How do you get to Carol Doak's yahoo group?
