You get a gold star for innovation...that is really pretty! I just love tradition with a twist.

Thank you everyone for all the compliments :D Yep only a year. LOL But taking out all the seams was a killer. The only reason I did that was to give a different look where it wasn't faded yet. But I figured what a good way to "go green" and recycle a little bit. :D

It was ragged naturally when washed. I used a zig zag stitch and let it do its own thing. Yes...it is very heavy and hard to work with once it got so large. Lots of late nights with it rolled and folded and help from DH  (I think he just wanted it off the kitchen table  )

It's not a real cathedral window...it is circles sewn to look like a CW type quilt...no batting although you could put some under the squares of cotton fabric if you like. It would just make the quilt that much heavier.

My son fell in love with it while I was making it so I told him to wait and see what I felt like doing with it. ( I gave it to him for Christmas and he uses it on his bed and says he doesn't really need any other blankets since it is so heavy and warm. )

Some ladies at work liked it well enough that I was asked (and did) teach them how to make lap sized for donations to homeless and nursing homes. It was scary  but sort of fun doing that. :D Felt good to be helping someone help others who need that. :D

Can you teach us also? I do several demin rag quilts, but would like to know alittle more about your technique on this one.
