These are couple of the great finds I got this weekend at a local estate sale!
Strangely the lady sewed/quilted, but there was NO fabric!

Great find....Looks like you were in the right place and the right time:)

I don't which was more exciting...the machine has tension issues right now, but I am working on her!
That box though..wow...a very rare find for around here...and for $5.00 I could not grab it fast enough!

Wow!!! Great buy!!! Have fun... :)

The sewing box is so pretty and looks so handy. Hope you get the issues with machine sorted out soon. However, both were very good finds.

She probably made quilts from old clothes or maybe a family member grabbed all the fabric.

Clean and oil the machine, put Singer lube in the motor if there are grease ports. Change the needle and make sure the flat of the needle is to the right and thread needle left to right.

Maybe she is one of the rare quilters who finished all her projects before it was her time? Wow...that would be rare indeed.
I bet she would be glad that her precious machines are going to be used and loved!

yep, I know all that..just wish I could figure out why the tension is like it is...need to find a manual!

I seriously doubt she used it all...I am thinking she took it with her...hehehe

I currently have two Spartans, and they are terrific for quilting. Easy to oil and regulate. I use a Kenmore for mending projects, but if I am quilting, the Spartan does the best. It is the same as the Singer 99 but without the light, so if you need a direction book, the 99 will work, and all the attachments too. Enjoy!

I love that sewing box! I've never seen one like that.

Just go to Google and type in Spartan sewing machine manual. It has a site there that will show give you the manual and it tells how to adjust the tension. I bought a Spartan and that is how I found the manual. Good luck
