I love your quilt, the colours are outstanding. I started a queen size bargello two years ago but lost interest because the colours didn't grab me once I started putting it together. After seeing yours I am going to take the rows apart and arrange it differently. Thanks for the inspiration.

It's getting bigger. I really like it. I added more narrow strips and now it's got more of a sweep going.
This is it so far. |

Hi everybody! Here's an update for you. There are so many strips when I lay it out on the floor that I decided to sew some more together. I still have to add partial strips to each end though, so I'm sewing them up leaving a couple of squares un-sewn. I think this might be the wrong way to go about it though. I'm thinking that maybe I should go ahead and finish out each row and then sew them together. I'll let you know what I do. On Billie Lauders video she says to make it in 3 or 4 pieces and then sew it together.

Just popped in to check this thread out, my goodness........
Danmar, that sure is purty..........I admire you for being able to do that without a pattern! It's going to be beautiful! :D :D |
So pretty!! The colors are beautiful, I can't wait to see more!!

Your quilt will be so beautiful when it's done. I'm afraid to try that pattern, I have bought books on it but I keep talking myself out of it. I have trouble picking colors that go well together.

You know what you should do? Go to this link and just make the little 12" block and then you'll see how simple it really is and you won't be afraid to do it any more. Here's the link. You won't be sorry! Post a picture of your 12" when you get it done. And I want to hear then if you are still afraid to try one. Alright? I'll be here waiting to see your picture! I love what you are doing with these colors and the overall effect. I'm certain that I will try one of these soon. Thanks for putting this process out here for us to see. One question ... what size will it be ... or will you just let it grow until until it's "just right"?

It is going to be beautiful. I'm excited to see more pictures.

I have just done the top half of a Bargello and it was in 2 parts so half of it I have to take apart and redo because it dont fit like it was suppose to. so you learn as you go. Ran out of one of my material and had to send of to get more so I can do the bottom half. Had alot of little pieces left that I just turned into a lap quilt. But still going to do another if I get threw with this one. So good luck.
